In 1974 a group of determined families founded our agency upon dedicated commitment to advocacy and human rights for all individuals. Following standards set by the State of North Carolina establishing quality services to developmentally disabled adults the agency moved forward to provide Group Living, Semi-Independent Group Living, and Supervised Apartment Living services.

Our services are self directed by those receiving our services. Our professional staff serves as their support in organizing and implementing their services. Our Human Rights Committee and our Quality Management Team monitors services to ensure compliance with human rights as set forth by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights as well as our own State of North Carolina rights statutes.

Our Quality Management Team is comprised of our volunteer Board of Directors, our Human Rights Committee, our self-advocate led Program Advisory Committee, and our staff who meet the criteria for Education and Experience to be certified as Qualified Professionals in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
