In 1974 a
group of determined families founded our agency
upon dedicated commitment to advocacy and human
rights for all individuals. Following standards
set by the State of North Carolina for quality
services to developmentally disabled adults the
agency has moved forward to establish Group Home
Services, Semi-Independent Group Living
Services, and Case Management Services.
Our services
are self directed by those receiving our
services. Our professional staff serves as their
support in organizing and implementing their
services. Our Human Rights Committee and our
Quality Management Team monitors services to
ensure absolute compliance with human rights as
set forth by the United Nations Declaration of
Human Rights as well as our own State of North
Carolina rights statutes.
Our Board of Directors is a
passionate group of individuals that includes
family and client representation also. These
individuals govern the provision of our services
and are passionate about human rights and
committed to the assurance that everyone had the
opportunity to live and thrive in the community.
